Dynamic Aerial View of CRSC Landfill Site

Fredericton Region Solid Waste, soon to be known as Capital Region Service Commission, has produced another educational video, this time from the air.

With a New Brunswick Environmental Trust Fund grant and filming and editing expertise from Fredericton-based Raynemaker Productions, the video covers the entire landfill from entering the gate down to its landfill gas to energy plant and many services in between.

‘It’s not always possible for the public to get a sense of our everyday operations, but the drone project is one we had been discussing for a number of years,’ said Brad Janes, manager of public relations and education for FRSW. ‘The view from above and inside our buildings through the technology Raynemaker brings with it gives our audience a wide range of the landfill, recycling, household hazardous waste and more. It’s a project we’re certainly proud to share.’

The video is located on the website under Education.

The landfill drone tour joins a number of other education videos that are used in classrooms and as references for school projects.

‘The crispness and clarity of the footage is excellent,’ said Janes. ‘It covers everything we do from an operations point and gives a solid guide. It’s the next best thing to being on site.’
